I graduated from the National School of Bridges and Roads (ENPC) in Paris, the University of Pierre and Marie Curie in Paris (UPMC) and the University of Lille (Lille1) in the field of civil and geo-environmental engineering.
My scientific activity concerned successively geo-environmental engineering, urban engineering and Smart Cities. It resulted in the publication of nearly 110 journal papers, 200 conference papers (list) and the supervision of nearly 75 PhD (List). I give regular public conferences on various issues such as Smart Cities, innovation, knowledge society and climate change.
Commitment in the University governance
My career is marked by a commitment to the university governance. I was Vice-President for Research at the University Lille1, Director in charge of the International Relations at Lille1. I have been the Director of Civil and geo-environmental Engineering Laboratory (LGCgE). I was also candidate for the Presidency of the University of Lille1 in 2012 and 2016.
Commitment in Territorial Development
My career is also marked by a commitment to Territorial Development. I was President of “Technopôle Lille Métropole” and of the Innovation Centre in Contactless Technology – CITC-ERARFID. I initiated and continue to coordinate large Smart City projects, in particular SunRise, in partnership with both local authorities and economic sector.
